Biological Sciences Student Jeyashree Alagarsamy Wins Best Poster Award


Jeyashree Alagarsamy, a graduate student in biological sciences, won Best Poster Award at the 82nd Annual Southern California American Society for Microbiology Meeting in San Diego in October.
Her poster is titled Staphylococcus Biofilm Formation on Traditional and Boron Metal Alloys. The goal of the research is to find metal alloys that will make better and more durable prosthetics. She is a member of Professor and SEES Director Steve Alas’ lab.
Alagarsamy also received a grant to present her research at the 2019 American Society for Microbiology event in San Francisco.
