Boise State Says Goodbye to Lois Santillanes

The campus community is mourning the loss of Lois Santillanes, a long-time Bronco and a founding member of the Boise State Association of Office Professionals (BSUAOP).
Santillanes started her employment at Boise State in 1971 and retired from accounts payable 36 years later, in 2007.
She was a steadfast member and supporter of BSUAOP, and both the national and Idaho Associations of Educational Office Professionals throughout her years on campus and into retirement. Santillanes served as the Idaho organization’s president from 2003 to 2005 and proudly served as president of the National Association of Retired Educational Office Professionals from 2014 to 2015.
Rene Delaney worked with Santillanes at Boise State and said that she will be greatly missed. “Lois and I shared many laughs and good moments. She had the kindest heart ever! I will miss her.”
Following her retirement from Boise State, Lois continued to take great pleasure in volunteering with her professional organizations and was generous with donations. She was an avid Bronco football fan, holding season tickets on the 45 yard line for over 40 years and was a member of the Bronco Athletic Association.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 15 at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 Cloverdale Road.
