Broncos Finish Final Meet Before Nationals

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona track and field teams finished up their final meet before the nationals, competing at the 2018 Oxy Invitational at Occidental College. On the men’s side, Kyle Victoria led the way for the Broncos, taking first overall in the pole vault, hitting a height of 4.90 meters, just shy of his 4.95 performance at the conference championship meet. Kaelin Moore hit his highest provisional mark of the season in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 52.23 to finish second overall. His time ranks 13th overall in Division II. Coming in fourth overall in the 110-meter hurdles was Shane Martin who finished with a time of 14.36 while Paul Bentz and Alejandro Sandoval-Guzman finished fifth and seventh in the discus respectively with marks of 47.79 and 42.53 meters. For the women, Araseli Servin finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:46.21 to take sixth overall. Anela Miki-Han tossed the shot put 11.23 meters to finish in sixth while Imani Williams took 13th in the long jump with a distance of 5.28 meters. The Broncos will have a week of rest before the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship meet beginning Thursday, May 24. Print Friendly Version
