Pomona- The Cal Poly Pomona women’s soccer team will go on the road this week as they look to remain unbeaten in California Collegiate Athletic Association play when they face the University of California San Diego on Friday and Cal State San Marcos on Sunday. Saturday’s match will feature two of the top teams in the region with UCSD at No. 2 and CPP at No. 4 according to the United Soccer Coaches’ West Region Poll. Kalin Tomlinson scored the lone goal against CSU East Bay and Alison Kung scored against CSU Monterey Bay. Keeper Ricki Ives was named the CCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week after recording nine saves through two shutouts. By the Numbers: Daisy Duran leads the team in scoring with four goals. Samantha Putnam hopes to continue to add to her team leading four assists. The Broncos are averaging 1.6 points per game which puts them in the middle of the conference. The defense is performing phenomenal as they’ve pitched six shutouts and only allowed five goals in nine games.
