Chamber of Commerce 2018 Distinguished Service Award and Village of Glen Ellyn Distinguished
Leader Award for her service, dedication and leadership during her tenure as President
of COD.   Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dawn Smith and Village of Glen Ellyn
Manager Mark Franz announced the surprise farewell awards to Rondeau at the President’s
Annual Holiday Celebration on Dec. 5 at the College’s Glen Ellyn campus. View photos from the event.Awarded since 1963, the Glen Ellyn Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual
who best represents the spirit of community and has made a continuing positive impact
on the quality of life in Glen Ellyn.“With the two-and-a-half-year tenure Dr. Rondeau has been with us, she has moved mountains,”
Smith said. “The relationship between the College of DuPage, the Village of Glen Ellyn,
all the civic partners and our residents has never been stronger. Dr. Rondeau helped
restore the college’s accreditation, launched the nonprofit Innovation DuPage to promote
business growth, and created project Hire-Ed, which focuses on building student success
with future employers. Her leadership and dedication to her position has been unparalleled.”Village of Glen Ellyn Manager Mark Franz praised Rondeau for her prioritizing Innovation
DuPage as an economic and educational venture for both the College and the city of
Glen Ellyn.“Dr. Rondeau has been very important to the Village of Glen Ellyn,” Franz said. “We
formed an ongoing partnership with College of DuPage, when there wasn’t one before.
She has played a major role in the creation of Innovation DuPage, which will promote
business growth and job creation, and why we are honored to award her the Distinguished
