Meet History and InformationFloTrack West Regional PreviewEntriesSACRAMENTO, Calif. — Haggin Oaks Golf Course will once again feature some of the top teams in the country as it will serve as the home course for the NCAA Div. I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country West Regional on Saturday. The women’s 6K race will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the men’s 10K race at noon. Admission is free but there will be a charge for parking.The top two teams in both races will automatically advance to the NCAA Championships. The remaining teams will be eligible for one of 13 at-large berths which will be handed out by the committee.Portland holds the top spot in the latest USTFCCCA men’s west region poll. The Pilots are followed by Stanford and Washington who finished 1-2 at the Pac-12 Championships. Boise State and Oregon complete the top five. All five schools are ranked among the top 11 in the national rankings with Portland topping the list at No. 4.Oregon is the top ranked team in the women’s race and is currently ranked second in the national poll. The Ducks took over the top spot in the region this week after winning the Pac-12 title. Jessica Hill finished second at the meet and led four Oregon runners in the top eight. Boise State dropped to No. 2 in the region and third nationally after placing second at the Mountain West Championships — losing to defending national champion New Mexico by two points. The remainder of the top five in comprised of Stanford, Washington and Portland.Overall 618 student-athletes from 38 colleges and universities have been entered in the meet. This will mark the third time Sacramento State has hosted the NCAA Div. I Cross Country West Regional.
