CWRU Men’s Tennis to Split Squad Between Oberlin & Cincinnati

The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team will continue its fall season this weekend, splitting the squad between the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational in Mason, Ohio and the Oberlin Invitational in Oberlin, Ohio.The Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational is scheduled to be held from Friday, September 14 through Saturday, September 15 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.  Spartans scheduled to compete at the event include juniors Sam Concannon and Anthony Kanam, sophomores Jonathan Powell and Matthew Chen and freshmen Chaitanya Aduru and Max Vicario.The Oberlin Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College, will be held on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16.  Slated to be in action at Oberlin for CWRU are senior Rob Stroup, juniors Zach Hennessey, Siddharth Rajupet and Henry Squire, sophomores Josh Hsia, and Earl Hsieh, and freshmen Kenneth Boyette, Varun Thachil and Aaron Umen.  Other teams represented at the event include Baldwin Wallace, Ohio Northern, Wooster, Tiffin, Juniata, Earlham, Denison, John Carroll, Ashland and Oberlin.The Spartans are coming off a strong opening weekend performance at the Kenyon Invitational in Gambier, Ohio last weekend.  Case Western Reserve players combined to go 26-3 in doubles play and win four of the five draws at the tournament. Results from each tournament will be posted to athletics.case.edu at the end of competition each day, with a recap on CWRU’s performances posted at the end of the tournaments.
