EMU Heads to NCAA Zone Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s diving teams head to the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Ind. for the NCAA Zone Championships this weekend, March 9-11.In order to qualify for the NCAA Championships, divers must finish inside the allotted placements for their particular zone. On the women’s side, the Zone C Championship will qualify eight 1-meter divers and nine 3-meter divers to the NCAA Championships. Six platform divers will also earn a trip to nationals. For the men, the top-five divers on the 1-meter will advance, while seven 3-meter divers will make the cut. Overall, the top-18 in each event in the opening round will advance to the finals with a chance to punch their tickets to Indianapolis, Ind., with scores carrying over to the finals round.Action gets underway from Bloomington, Ind. Thursday – Women’s 1-meter/Men’s 3-meter – 1:00 p.m. ET
Friday – Women’s 3-meter/Men’s 1-meter – 1:00 p.m. ET
Saturday – Women’s and Men’s Platform – 11:00 a.m. ET
Top-18 in the opening round/prelims advance to the finals. Scores will carry over.
