The Boise Jazz Society will present Spanish jazz pianist Chano Dominquez and his ensemble, Flamenco Sketches, in concert from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Chateau des Fleurs in Eagle.
Dominguez’s talents have been lauded for their integration of jazz and flamenco. During a career spanning more than 40 years, Dominguez has collaborated with countless musicians, has been nominated for Grammy awards multiple times. He also appeared in Calle 54, the award-winning documentary made in 2000 about Latin jazz. The Boise concert will feature vocal and dance performances.
The evening will include a pre-concert mixer on the veranda from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Drinks and tapas will be available for purchase. Le Coq d’Or Restaurant will be open for dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Make reservations online.

The society’s six concert subscription season concerts will begin in September with a concert by the Eric Alexander Quartet featuring Harold Mabern. The Emmet Cohen Trio, Jeff Hamilton Trio featuring Scott Hamilton, the NYC Project with Joel Frahm, Eric Niceberg, Hans Glawischnig, and Ari Hoenig, the Renee Rosnes Quartet featuring Steve Nelson and the Diego Figueiredo and Ken Peplowski Duo, round out the season, which ends in May 2019.
All Boise Jazz Society memberships for the 2018-19 season are sold, but members occasionally turn back tickets for a specific concert. The society keeps a waiting list for each concert for people who want to be notified if tickets become available.
