Former Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State forward Mitch Lane has passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 44.

Lane played two seasons for the Huskies from 1992-94. He appeared in 72 games and scored 11 goals and six assists.

The Laguna Hills, Calif., native transferred to Lake Superior after his sophomore season. He played 68 games the following two seasons for the Lakers, scoring 28 career points.

He is survived by his wife Amy, daughter Madelyn, and son Zachary.
