LAKEWOOD RANCH, Florida (Oct. 22, 2018) – Moving day at the Panther-hosted FIU Pat Bradley Invitational saw the FIU women’s golf team jump into sole possession of fourth place after totaling a three-under par 285 on Monday. The Panthers’ three-under par day was the lowest team score posted during Monday’s second round. Leading the FIU insurgence, Valentina Gilly improved three shots from her Sunday total by firing a two-under 70 to catapult the sophomore into a tie for seventh. Sitting in sole possession of 15th place is Ana Maria Rengifo. The sophomore from Bogota, Colombia vaulted up the leaderboard following her second round 71. Carolina Andrade joined Gilly and Rengifo with an under-par round of her own. The sophomore shot a 71 on Monday to enter the final round in a tie for 16th. Agueda Cortilla carded a second round 73 and will enter Tuesday tied for 39th, while Gabriela Powel is tied for 50th after shooting a second round 77 to round out the team scorecard. On the individual side, Hannah Leiner is tied for 10th after carding a second round of 73. In her season debut tournament, Diana Velez shaved two strokes off her Sunday round to shot 75 on Monday. Velez is tied for 44th. Joining Velez in a tie for 44th, Carolina Rotzinger shot a second round 77 as an individual.
UTEP holds a four-stroke lead over the field, while Gonzaga’s Quynn Duong leads the Individual leaderboard.
FIU starts Tuesday’s final round at 8:30 a.m. ET. The event will have live results posted at Birdiefire.com for all three days and all 54 holes.
