Danette Cook Adamson, who served as a librarian on campus for more than three decades, died June 7.
Cook Adamson was hired in September 1979 and retired in December 2013. She worked as both a music librarian and a special collections librarian, where she oversaw projects such as oral history interviews with local wine experts and figures connected with Cal Poly Pomona’s roots. She also helped to coordinate the Golden Leaves Awards, a ceremony to recognize Cal Poly Pomona authors.
Cook Adamson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music from Biola University in 1976. She earned a master’s in library science in 1977 from USC, according to her LinkedIn page.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 19 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road in Whittier. A viewing is at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 2:30 p.m. and dinner at Rose Hills at 5 p.m.
