The office of Career Exploration & Services (CES) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for a temporary Student Employment Technician to provide programmatic and technical support for student employment programs. Support activities will include assisting in the continued development and support of the Alaska PEAK program, and providing exemplary customer service and technical support for UAA career management platform users.The successful candidate will be tech-savvy, highly organized, energetic, friendly, collaborative, independent, problem solver, with strong attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to work as part of the CES team. Demonstrated experience providing high quality customer service and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional and courteous manner to a diverse clientele.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an ethical manner. Ability to present complex or technical information in an understandable manner. Proficiency with computers, databases, spreadsheets and common application tools like MS Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A willingness to learn new things and contribute ideas. Effective organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Required education and experience includes two years of customer service experience in a technical or business related field is required. One year college coursework in related field and one-year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
