Join U of A’s New Diversity Teams at Kickoff Events April 19 and 27

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Want to help build a more inclusive and diverse campus here at the U of A? The Office for Diversity and Inclusion has developed two volunteer programs — Diversity Ambassadors for students, and Diversity Champions for faculty and staff — to assist in building a more diverse and inclusive campus culture and climate.

The two teams are for students, staff and faculty who want to serve as leaders in actively assisting the campus in efforts to create a more inclusive and diverse culture and climate.

The Diversity Ambassador program is for all undergraduate, graduate and online students both on campus and off. The Faculty and Staff Diversity Champion program is open to all full-time and part-time faculty and staff.

Student Diversity Ambassador Kickoff Event Details:

When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19
Where: Reynolds Center Auditorium
Food provided for all who register.
Faculty and Staff Diversity Champion Kickoff Event Details:

When: Noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 27
Where: Reynolds Center Auditorium
Food provided for all who register.
“Building a more diverse and inclusive campus is critical to achieving our university mission and takes every one of us working together,” said Yvette Murphy-Erby, vice provost for diversity and inclusion. “Join the Diversity Ambassadors or the Diversity Champions team to help us identify areas of success and concern and implement strategic efforts to build a more inclusive and diverse campus through shared efforts, energy and ideas; together we can achieve our campus priority on enhancing diversity and inclusion.”

Both teams — student Ambassadors and faculty/staff Champions — will be essential partners in growing diversity and inclusion efforts across campus through deliberate efforts to identify areas of concern and success, assist recruitment and retention efforts for faculty, staff and students from underrepresented populations and areas and create a more inclusive environment for all faculty staff …
