CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – LSU alumna Jenny Lidback will be the first Lady Tiger inducted into the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Players Hall of Fame on Sunday, December 2. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lidback joins Heather Bowie of Arizona State and Texas, and Marilynn Smith of Kansas as in the 2018 class. The trio will be the 73rd, 74th and 75th members of the WGCA Players Hall of Fame. Former LSU head coach Karen Bahnsen, Lidback’s collegiate coach, was inducted into the WGCA Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009.
Lidback transferred to LSU after spending two and a half years at TCU and had one of the greatest single seasons in women’s collegiate golf history. During the 1985-86 season, Lidback won a record seven individual titles and led the Lady Tigers to a program-best five team championships. Following her senior season, she was named the NCAA Player of the Year.
Lidback, a member of the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2009, has gone on to have a successful professional career, including winning the 1995 du Maurier Classic, which has the time was one of the LPGA Tour’s four major championships. In 2018, she competed in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women’s Open in July and the Senior LPGA Championship in October.
