BATON ROUGE – The LSU Tigers basketball team and coaching staff wasted little time getting back to work to quickly get ready for Saturday’s game in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge in Lubbock, Texas against Texas Tech.
The game is set for 1 p.m. at United Supermarket Arena and broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and televised on ESPNU. It is one of 10 games in the Challenge. It is the third straight year that LSU has participated in the Challenge, winning at nationally-ranked West Virginia in December 2014 and falling in a hotly-contested game against No. 1 Oklahoma last year on this weekend in 2016.
This will be the final non-conference game of the year for the Tigers, who are 8-3 in non-conference games this season. LSU is 9-10 overall, while Texas Tech, which comes into the game off a four-point loss at No. 5 Baylor on Wednesday, is 14-6 overall and 11-1 in non-conference games.
The Tigers struggled both offensively and defensively on Wednesday night at the Maravich Center, falling, 106-71, to Florida.
Coach Johnny Jones met with the media on Thursday prior to practice and here are some of his comments:
