DAVIS, Calif. – Senior Caitlin McCoy and freshman Jared Del Real were just two Humboldt State Lumberjacks who impressed at Saturday’s Woody Wilson Invite hosted by UC Davis.McCoy improved on her personal best in the 400m hurdles and moved to No. 4 in the program record book with a 1:03.81 finish. The Corning, Calif., product placed sixth out of 16 in the race.Del Real recorded a PR in the shot put with a throw of 13.81m. The freshman’s mark is the best in the shot put by the Green and Gold this season.A pair of Jacks, Selena Duenas and Brandon Sanford, hit conference qualifying marks Saturday. Duenas hit a PR in the long jump with a 4.93m mark, which was good for 14th place. Sanford has been improving his times each week and his efforts paid off at Woody Wilson. The sophomore ran the 200m in 22.97 and finished in 17th place.HSU splits its squad for the Mt. SAC Relays, Beach and Bryan Clay Invites next weekend.Print Friendly Version
