Men’s Basketball Signs Chavarin To NLI

POMONA — Cal Poly Pomona head men’s basketball coach Greg Kamansky has announced the signing of William Chavarin to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Broncos beginning the 2019-2020 season.Chavarin, a native of Oakland, Calif., is a four-year standout for Bishop O’Dowd High School where he leads in nearly every statistical category in his career.  He helped the Dragons to the 2018 CIF-North Coast Section Division 2 Championship as a junior, eventually reaching the semifinals of the Open Division State Championship.”We are extremely excited to welcome Will to our program,” said Kamansky. “He will bring positional size, skill, and play-making to our team. He comes from a highly successful, well-respected high school program and has played in meaningful games against high level competition throughout his high school career.”The leading returner on a highly ranked team in Northern California, Chavarin is a shooter, distributor, defender, and gets to the basket with skill and strength.”I am excited to join the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos men’s basketball program and contribute to the school’s legacy of winning and competing at a high level,” Chavarin said.
