Men’s Track & Field Tally Two Provisional Marks at Point Loma

SAN DIEGO – The Cal Poly Pomona men’s track & field team tallied two provisional marks as they competed at the Aztec Open and the Point Loma Invitational in San Diego, Calif. Shane Martin set a new personal record while hitting a provisional mark in the 110-meter hurdles, running a time of 14.16. Coming in second-place in the 400-meter hurdles was Kaelin Moore who also set a provisional mark in the event with a time of 53.31. The Broncos finished with solid performances in the relays as the 4×400-meter team took first overall with a time of 3:20.56, consisting of Luke Doukakis, Chris Uzoma, Keeon Thomas and Moore. The men’s 4×100-meter relay team took third-place as Doukakis, Uzoma, William Pritchard and Kenneth Hamel combined for a time of 42.43. CPP finished with three athletes in the top five in the pole vault with Kyle Victoria finishing first with a mark of 4.65 meters. Coming in second with the same height was Nolan O’Brien while Nicholas Mendoza took fourth with a jump of 4.50 meters. Devin Collins took third overall in the triple jump with a mark of 13.50 meters to close out the field events for the Broncos. At the Aztec Open, Gabriel Zapata was the lone performer for CPP, finishing the decathlon in fifth with a total of 4,651 points. The Broncos will head north next weekend as they prepare for the San Francisco State Distance Carnival held on Friday, March 30. Print Friendly Version
