NAU lost their third consecutive game against Weber State

www.jackcentral.org – RSS Results in sports* of type article The NAU Lumberjacks took on the Weber State University (WSU) Wildcats at home after coming off a 79-81 loss against Idaho State two days ago.The Lumberjacks came into the game attempting to try and slow down the high-scoring team. The Wildcats are averaging a total of 80.3 points per game this season.The Lumberjacks started the game slow struggling with their transition defense and had a hard time finding a good shot. WSU moved the ball down the court fast and tried to get points on the board quickly.
Within the first five minutes the Wildcats were leading the Lumberjacks 12-5. NAU took off defensively and made it difficult for the Wildcats to get a decent shot — the game looked promising for NAU.Weber started to pull away with a 15-1 run and took the score to 35-19 with four minutes left in the first half. WSU consistently drove to the basketball, got fouled and made the shot in the process. The Wildcats took advantage of NAU within the paint by scoring 26 points in the first half. WSU led the Lumberjacks 46-27 at halftime.Wildcat junior guard Jerrick Harding came out of the half attacking the hoop. He had 7 points within the first three minutes and made his total 22 for the game.NAU outscored WSU 43-40 in the second half but it wasn’t enough to come back from the first half deficit. NAU’s biggest challenge of the game was finding how to stop the duo of Harding and junior guard Cody John. The two Wildcat guards combined for a total of 54 points in the game. WSU walked out with the win over NAU 86-71.Turning point: Early in the game, NAU started off slow while WSU began to score some quick points. McCree gave the Lumberjacks a spark.
