Headline News BATON ROUGE – The Southeastern Conference announced the 2017 football schedule for all 14 SEC teams on Tuesday evening and the release revealed the Tigers will open next year’s conference slate on the road against Mississippi State on Sept. 16.
As previously announced, LSU opens the 2017 season against BYU on Sept. 2 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Other non-conference games for the Tigers next year include three home games against Chattanooga on Sept. 9, Syracuse on Sept. 23 and Troy on Sept. 30.
The Tigers will play their first SEC home game on Oct. 7 when Florida comes to Tiger Stadium, while Auburn visits Baton Rouge the following week for what will be the fourth consecutive home game for LSU.
After traveling to Ole Miss on Oct. 21, the Tigers will have an open date before facing Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 4. A road game against Tennessee on Nov. 18 in sandwiched between home games versus Arkansas on Nov. 11 and Texas A&M on Nov. 25.
The 2017 season will culminate with the first SEC Championship Game to be played in the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, December 2. It will be the 26th edition of the game and the 24th in the city of Atlanta.
