Fresno State News (December 29, 2016) — Fresno State will salute Dr. Vincent E. Petrucci, professor emeritus of viticulture, by posting its national and state flags at half-staff on Jan. 4, the day of his funeral service.

The Petrucci family announced today that services will be next week for the father of Fresno State’s viticulture and enology academic program who died Dec. 27 in Fresno and requests that remembrances be made to endowments in his name.
The viewing will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Lisle Funeral Home (1605 L Street). Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be follow at 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (355 E. Champlain Drive). A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Holy Spirit. Burial will be private.
Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro ordered the university’s flags posted at half-staff in memory of Dr. Petrucci, who served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps at the end of World War II.
To honor their father, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Ag One Foundation to support the Vincent E. Petrucci Endowment for viticulture and enology student scholarships or the Fresno State Foundation to support the V. E. Petrucci Library Endowment (mailing address for both: 2910 E. Barstow Ave. M/S OF 115, Fresno CA 93740).
The Ag One Foundation benefits, promotes and supports students and programs in the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. In 1994, Ag One honored Dr. Petrucci with its Community Salute distinction. Proceeds launched a grape symposium and established the Vincent E. Petrucci Endowment to support students majoring in viticulture and enology with scholarships annually in his honor.
