Servin Leads Track & Field with Provisional Mark

POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona women’s track & field teams split their time this weekend, running at the Occidental College Distance Carnival while also competing at the Ben Brown Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton. Araseli Servin led the Broncos at the distance carnival, hitting an NCAA Division II provisional mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:58.13 to finish second overall in the event. Lorraine Fernandez led her section in the 5,000-meter race, finishing 25th overall with a time of 17:32.39. In the Ben Brown Invitational, Samantha Aguilar finished with the top mile time at, running5:14.79. Also turning in a top time was Alisha Greenlaw who finished the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.11. Kalin Tomlinson ran the 800-meter race in 2:26.61 to take second overall in the event while J’ley Fagalar and Sarah Reyna finished second and third respectively in the 400-meter. The CPP 4×100-meter relay took finished third overall as Bridgitte Agcaoili, Ryanne Napoleon, Reyna and Greenlaw combined for a time of 50.80. The Broncos tallied three first-place performances in the field events as Charisma Byrd won the high jump with a mark of 1.50 meters. Hannah Stueve took the pole vault with a height of 3.60 meters and Jenna Gonzalez finished first in the shot put with a distance of 12.46 meters. CPP returns to action next Saturday, Mar. 17, as they compete in the Redlands Invitational host by the University of Redlands. Print Friendly Version
