In an effort to improve the classroom reservation process, the George Washington University (GW) School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), in partnership with the Milken Institute School of Public Health at GW, is rolling out a new scheduling platform: Event Management Services (EMS).EMS, which is replacing the legacy Resource Scheduler system, allows those with access to see classroom resources and availability in real time. In streamlining the reservation process, users will be able to create, edit, or cancel their own reservations without having to reach out to SMHS Classroom Services, though reservations will require confirmation. Classroom Services creates more than 6,000 bookings every year, and EMS will allow for a better understanding of space utilization.
Training for coordinators who schedule classes, grand rounds, seminars, workshops, and other academic events, or for anyone with an interest in using EMS, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 20, in Himmelfarb B103.
