Softball Falls 2-0 to LMU for 1st Postseason Loss

RIVERSIDE, Calif.— The UC Riverside Softball Team (37-23) took its first loss of the postseason Thursday morning falling 2-0 to host LMU (33-25-1). Senior Tayler Misfeldt had another great outing in her 4th straight start, but the Highlanders could not find run-support for their pitcher registering just two hits in the game.Pitcher Misfeldt tossed another complete game for UCR allowing just two runs and two walks, while striking out eight. She now has 415 career strikeouts, growing her all-time record.Senior Jenna Curtan and junior Brittney Garcia collected the only hits in the game for UC Riverside grabbing a double and single, respectively. LMU put its two runs on the board int he 2nd and 3rd innings and was able to hold on to win it 2-0.The Highlanders will now play in an elimination game with Eastern Kentucky, who they defeated 9-6 yesterday, at 3:20.
