Two Sexual Assaults Reported in Yocum Hall


www.uatrav.com – RSS Results in news/campus,news/campus/* of type article Two students reported sexual assaults in Yocum Hall to Campus Security Authorities on Feb. 15, according to the UAPD Daily Crime Log.CSA received the reports at 9:55 a.m. Both students reported fondling by an acquaintance, one at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and the other at 11 a.m. on Nov. 9, 2018. Both cases are pending Title IX review.Fondling is the touching of a person’s private body parts without their consent, according to the 2017 Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Report, an annual police report that is released to all students, faculty and staff.
No other information was provided in the CSA report or the UAPD Daily Crime Log.These are the third and fourth sexual assault reports UAPD has received in the 2018-19 academic year, according to the crime log.UAPD received the first report this academic year Nov. 8, 2018, regarding an acquaintance sexual assault at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house, according to the crime log.
Campus Security Authorities are UA faculty or staff that report information about crimes to UAPD for statistical purposes, although UAPD officers do not investigate these reports.Students can report a rape or sexual assault to UAPD by calling 911 or to Title IX by calling 479-575-7111.
