W&M Men’s Cross Country Competes at Southeast Region Championships on Friday

The William & Mary men’s cross country team will look to extend its season by another week on Friday, as it competes at the Southeast Region Championships with a bid to the NCAA Championships on the line.  The regional meet is being hosted by Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., this year, and the men’s race will begin at 12 p.m.  The race can be followed via live results on TribeAthletics.com.Scouting the Tribe
William & Mary won its 19th-straight Colonial Athletic Association Championship two weeks ago, fending off a challenge from a strong Northeastern squad to extend the second-longest active winning streak in the country.  Tribe senior Ryan McGorty (Fairfax, Va.) led the way in second place, just half a second behind the winner, and was joined by four underclassmen teammates on the All-Conference team.  Redshirt-freshmen Micah Pratt (Lynchburg, Va.) and Patrick Lynch (Vienna, Va.), seventh and ninth, were joined by sophomore Spencer Tsai (Eugene, Ore.) and true freshman Zachary Levet (Glen Allen, Va.) in the top-12 as all four earned their first All-CAA honors.Andrew Cacciatore (r-jr.) – Hasn’t raced yet this year.Dawson Connell (r-sr.) – Seventh on the team at CAAs, finishing 17th overall.Evan Goodell (r-fr.) – Eighth on the team at CAAs … Fifth on the team at CNU … Also ran at Richmond.Cooper Leslie (jr.) – Sixth on the team at CAAs in 16th place … Fourth on the team at Paul Short … Seventh on the team at Pre-Nationals.Zachary Levet (fr.) – All-CAA after finishing 11th at the conference meet … Fifth on the team … Fifth on the team at Pre-Nationals in his first in-uniform appearance … Ran at Richmond and Paul Short unattached.Patrick Lynch (r-fr.) – Fourth on the team at the CAA Championships, finishing ninth overall for all-conference honors … Third on the team at Paul Short … Fourth on the team at …
