Zodiac Trio Performs Trio of Events at College

Published on: October 30, 2012 Lone Star College-Montgomery invites the community to experience the sounds of the internationally-acclaimed Zodiac Trio during three unique on-campus presentations November 7-9, all in the Recital Hall, located in the colleges Music Hall (Building H). As part of its U.S. tour, the Paris-based group will perform Instrumental Soundings alongside LSC-Montgomerys String Ensemble and Symphonic Band on Wednesday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $10; or $5 for students, staff, and faculty. On Thursday, November 8, at 11:30 a.m., as part of the colleges Lyceum Lecture Series, Zodiac Trio will present Music of a Silenced Nation. This talk will explore Russias musical output during the Soviet regimes 75-year effort to eliminate the countrys most talented minds. There is no cost to attend this presentation. Finally, on Friday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m., the tour concludes with Zodiac Trio in Concert, an evening of music from the world-class ensemble. General admission tickets are $10; or $5 for students, staff, and faculty. Protégé of the renowned Ysaye Quartet at the Paris Conservatory, Zodiac Trio, which combines the sounds of clarinet, violin, and piano, has performed at leading venues such as the famed Festival Radio France Montpellier, the International Colmar Festival, the Oriental Performing Arts Center in Shanghai, Izumi Hall in Japan and Lincoln Center in New York City.
